For the Rights of All: Ending Jim Crow in Alaska tells the story of an extraordinary Alaskan woman who becomes an unforeseen hero in the fight for civil rights. Elizabeth Peratrovich–a young, unassuming Tlingit Indian mother of three–testified before the Alaska Territorial Senate in 1945 and swayed the floor vote with her compelling testimony in favor of the passage of the Anti-Discrimination Act, the first civil rights bill passed in the United States since the Civil War.

As a longtime Alaskan media producer and playwright, JEFFRY LLOYD SILVERMAN has produced a number of notable documentary films about Alaska, with an emphasis on Native public affairs, history and culture. Several of these films are on permanent exhibit in Anchorage. Jeff produced, co-wrote and co-directed the award-winning civil rights documentary, “For the Rights of All: Ending Jim Crow in Alaska,” which has aired nationally on PBS stations since 2009. He produced an award-winning weekly public affairs show for public television for seven years.

PHIL LUCAS was an American filmmaker of mostly Native American themes. He was an actor, writer, producer, director and editor for more than 100 films/documentaries or television programs starting as early as 1979 when he wrote/co-produced and co-directed Images of Indians for PBS - a five-part series exploring the problem of Indian stereotypes as portrayed and perpetuated by Hollywood Westerns.
