Supporting the Production of Native Content

Each year, Vision Maker Media awards over $500,000 in production contracts to independent producers and public television stations to produce programming by and about Native Americans for use by PBS stations. There are many opportunities for filmmakers to succeed. In an effort to support filmmakers, Vision Maker Media collects and provides a number of available opportunities for funding, training, jobs, internships, festival deadlines and more.

Over the next year, 25 Native professionals and college students who are interested in starting or further developing a STEM-related business will receive culturally-contextualized professional development focused on Access to Capital, Business Training, Federal Program C

Through a series of meetings and workshops, the Documentary Lab provides creative feedback and story notes to participating filmmakers, while helping them strategize for the completion, distribution, and marketing of their films.
