Growing Native STEM Business in the West

Over the next year, 25 Native professionals and college students who are interested in starting or further developing a STEM-related business will receive culturally-contextualized professional development focused on Access to Capital, Business Training, Federal Program Coaching, and Business Incubators and Accelerators.

From December 2018 to August 2019, cohort members will participate in three, two-day workshops and four webinars to explore and develop business ideas. Workshops and webinars will feature:

  • Subject-matter experts from Native STEM businesses, national Native organizations, corporate partners, and federal agencies
  • Network with experts and cohort participants to create collaboration, exchange knowledge, and provide social and cooperative support
  • Business training and skill development that incorporates Native culture and values
  • Access to resources, national Native American networks focused on supporting business development, and funding opportunities
